A basic normative approach is suggested to evaluate a family of predictors of the outcome of a soccer game. the proposed approach can be easily extended to cover any sports games. Members of the family such as the naive and mode predictors are evaluated and their relative efficiencies are derived. Furthermore, a statistical analysis regarding these predictors is supplied to identify the factors affecting the outcomes of games in the Israeli Soccer League.
