This paper deals with a production scheduling problem in the two-stage hybrid flow shop, when there is one machine at the first stage and the second stage consists of different kinds of machine. First, the total flowtime or makespan and the maximum work-in-process are formulated as criteria for manufacturing performance. Further, the effect of the lot sizing and sequencing on these criteria is examined through a series of numerical experiments.
