In this paper a generic simulation tool for modelling production in dairies is presented. The system supplies different types of objects and the user creates a model of a plant by configuring and linking them together. Its generic and flexible nature permits modelling of a multitude of situations, namely the test of alternative plant layouts and production plans. The tool also offers a visual display of the state of the world during a simulation run.
