The author finds it completely incomprehensible that APL has been ignored by the majority of the Operational Research OR fraternity. APL makes available to the operations researcher a uniquely concise and profoundly eloquent language that is directly machine executable. It thus enables the operations researcher to use the computer as a laboratory for working out, analysing, and developing mathematical concepts, ideas, and problems. After a description of APL some examples of its use as a Math Laboratory are described.
