Most of the existing software reliability growth models (SRGM) developed in the literature suffer from the handicap that they are not flexible enough and are suited only in a particular environment. Therefore, it is important to develop SRGMs which are flexible and may be used under different development environments. In this paper the authors propose an SRGM based on non-homogeneous Poisson Process which has the required flexibility. The model termed as a Generalised Erlang SRGM has been tested on several data sets and it brings forth the fact that the proposed model is flexible enough and can be applied under different testing environments. Goodness of fit and the predictive ability of the model are also shown. Numerical results are illustrated through graphs and tables.
