With the availability of cheap micro-computers, there has been a tremendous escalation of information systems (IS) implementation world-wide. However, in the Less Developing Countries (LDC), there is a slower growth as well as a lack of information concerning their IS. This study focuses on the information management concerns of banks and financial institutions in an Islamic, middle-East Arab country, Jordan. The findings was that their chief concerns were concentrated upon the acual physical operational/technological transfer aspects rather than the managerial/efficient productivity angles that are prevalent in the more advanced nations of the West. The implication is that with the normal development of IS in the LDCs, the next stage to prepare for, is that of the IS strategic deployment and efficient use of resources, which are the current concerns in the West.
