In this paper the authors discuss the design of terminal oriented computer network. This is a complex combinatorial problem. In order to determine at least an approximate solution, the problem has been traditionally subdivided into decision steps (subproblems) and then the subproblems have been solved independently. In this paper, the present objective is to present integrated mathematical programming models that incorporate these partial problems, and thus make it possible to formulate the overall design problem as an entity. Several generalisations of previous models are considered.
