Abstract:

This paper analyzes an (s,S) perishable system with Poisson demands and exponentially distributed leadtimes for items with exponential lifetimes. Demands occurring during stock-out periods are lost. The steady-state operating characteristics are obtained explicitly and the analytical properties of the long-run expected cost rate are discussed.
