Development of a practical Goal Programming system for solving semi-large size multi-criterion planning problems

To support decision makers working out semi-large size multi-criterion programming, the authors developed a system using Goal Programming with a personal computer. A two-step-modelling method is proposed, by which even PC-users can use the system easily. An algorithm is presented where the methods, Product Form of the Inverse and Lexicographic Rule of Cycling Prevention, are combined so as to reduce the need of memory space and improve the speed. The authors also present a planning case to illustrate the application of the system.
