Abstract:

Metro and light rapid transit systems provide an effective means of transportation in several large cities. Several criteria and quantitative tools can be used by planners to design and assess potential configurations. This article proposes a classification and study of the most commonly used topological patterns. Numerical indices are developed in order to assess the various configurations.
