Behind the question formulated in this paper lies more fundamental ones: What is OR? How to teach a consulting profession? In this paper it is shown that there are several conceptions of Operational Research OR and therefore different ways to teach Operational Research OR. Learning processes of human beings are also discussed and the relevance of ‘supervision’ for Operational Research OR is also emphasized.
