This paper considers the problem of optimal reutilization of waste material from ore production. The recycling of these tailings reduces depository costs (including environmental costs) on the one hand and, on the other hand, building materials like sand, gravel, cement, bricks, etc. can be produced. Using Pontryagin’s maximum principle, the structure of the optimal recycling policy is obtained.
