A method for the numerical solution of functional equations: Applied to the solution of partial differential equations

The authors propose a method for the numerical solution of functional equations, linear or not. The basic idea is simple and consists to choose a particular approximated form for representing the unknowns functions. For that, the authors use a transformation (Alienor) that has been developed about global optimization methods. This technique is applied to the solution of partial differential equations arising in biology.
