Over the years we have learned to use an optimal basic solution to perform sensitivity analysis. Recently, the importance of an optimal partition, induced by a strictly complementary solution, has surfaced in connection with the interior pointmethod. This paper gives examples where the partition is what is needed or desired to perform the analysis.
