Abstract:

The paper considers the stochastic behaviour of a tandem queue in the case of a renewal arrival process and arbitrarily distributed identical successive service times. Immediately after being served at a given stage, the customer enters the queue of unlimited capacity for service at the next stage. Service discipline is ‘first come-first served’. In particular, the probability distribution of the overall sojourn time is derived.
