The introduction of uncertainty in deterministic network programming

In the last few years great attention has been given to the study of stochastic networks for project planning. Despite this interest, there is still much to say about deterministic networks. In the first study of this article the authors present a model in which the resources are stochastic. The model has the advantage of being highly flexible. The second study presents an alternative technique to PERT in order to introduce uncertainty in network programming under resources constraints. Both studies have in common the wide use of computer simulation and the aim of producing techniques which are simple to use.
