Abstract:

Hypergame methodology is applied to modelling and analysis of the Persian Gulf crisis. One of the main issues is the presence of misperceptions in such complicated conflicts, and how the misperceptions at particular stages of the process affect the bargaining and negotiations. The hypergame stability analysis shows how misunderstandings influenced the behaviour of each decision maker as well as the possible conflict resolutions as perceived by the decision makers.
