This paper investigates a mathematical model of a complex system having two subsystems with two types of repair facilities regular and expert. Regular repairman is always available with the system and if he fails to repair the failed unit within a tolerable time (patience time); an expert repairman (perfect and costlier) is called on to do the repair. The failure times of units for both the subsystems are negative exponential whereas repair times and patience time for regular repair are arbitrary. Using regenerative point process, several measures of the system effectiveness are obtained.
