Computer simulations have become popular decision aids in evaluating manufacturing strategies due to the high costs and risks of implementing new technologies. This paper presents a case study of a computer simulation evaluation of the effects of varying operating practices and of incorporating modern equipment and processes in a typical low-technology shoe manufacturing facility.
