A discrete optimization (LP) model is developed with nine assumptions, nine variables and two constraints. The objective is to determine the minimum transport cost corresponding to an optimum allocation of the output to different demand points. The current data of fifteen districts in West Bengal state in India is used to find the minimal cost for the optimal distribution of fertilizer in the years 1990 and 1995. Malda in 1990 and Murshidabad in 1995 were the suggested locations.
