Capacity smoothing and sequencing for mixed-model lines

This paper deals with production planning problems of mixed-model lines. In particular sequencing aspects will be discussed. Some instruments which improve sequencing criteria will be described and compared to each other. These instruments act on different planning levels and touch different time frames. Therefore, there will also be an examination of their combined usage within a hierarchically structured planning process.
