The purpose of the paper is to show how traverses representing lines through a multidimensional environment, for example the chemical composition of granite, may be modeled in terms of isotropic multidimensional time series specifically modified for use on a square net. For special isotropic conditons, the four models: ARMA(1,0), ARMA(2,0), ARMA(0,1) and ARMA(1,1), and their properties are presented and illustrated with artificial series generated on a computer.
