A multicriteria sorting method for suppliers evaluation

The paper presents an application of the multicriteria methodology in the vendor rating problem for the evaluation of the suppliers of a big industrial holding. In the paper are presented: the identification of the problem formulation on the basis of the decision process as structured around a purchasing problem, the formalization of the problem in terms of multiple criteria, alternatives and problem statement, a specific method developed using a recent proposal in the sorting multicriteria methods and the application of the method on a real case.
