This paper presents a multicriteria decision making model for the allocation of land under cultivation for production of crops in different seasons in a year. In the decision making context, penalty functions are incorporated in goal programming to formulate the model of the problem. To expound the application potential of the proposed model, the Hooghly District of West Bengal in India is considered as a region for study.
