The Theory of Decision under risk and uncertainty has taken a new course in the last ten years. The present paper puts these developments into perspective. It briefly recalls the experimental results obtained and sketches some of the most important alternative models suggested to fit these results. Finally, a tentative interpretation of all this research movement is offered.
