Different authors, and even groups of authors or users have tried to evaluate many software packages. Firstly they worked on packages available on mainframes and later and now, for those on P.C. How did several among them, define the ‘goodness’ of software? Can we propose a (new) definition of ‘good software’? This article is concerned with different aspects of what could be called: the ergonomics of software. Finally the paper looks at the tools one could use to guarantee these qualities to be fulfilled, and makes a prospection of what future ‘packages’ should include, in the E.S. sense.
